Storytime!! I got permission talk about this, SO tl;dr coming up… last week, the staff at the awesome Big Chief Studios (which is the company that got some of my Doctor Who and Sherlock art officially licensed by BBC) visited the Sherlock set, and a bunch of amazing things happened to me because of it!!!
[[MORE]]FIRST, they got my “A Study in Pink" artwork signed by Benedict Cumberbatch, who wrote me that lovely message you can see in the photo above. Apparently Benedict’s MOM was also on set, and she liked the artwork so much that BCS gave both her and Benedict a copy of the print (!!!!) Benedict apparently said he was going to BUY a print so they just gave him one as a thank you… omg I am like almost embarrassed but also soooo flattered… I’ve already met Benedict once and gotten an autograph but ofc I don’t think he remembers, which is totally fine because now I have two pieces signed/approved by him and I just feel so incredibly lucky….!
SECOND!! So while BCS were on set, they also met up with the other cast members, Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss… and Benedict, Martin, and Mark are all willing to do SIGNED runs of my prints!! Of MY ARTWORK!! What. Of course, the mechanics of this may take awhile to actually set up, and of course the editions would be VERY limited, but omg just their sheer kindness and support of my art blows me away!!! The signed editions would be sold through Big Chief Studios, and profits would most likely go to charity.
So that’s a thing that’s happening. I’ll of course keep everyone updated on that…
AND FINALLY!!!! BCS also talked to Sue Vertue, the producer, about my artwork… I’ve also met Sue once before, she has always been absolutely LOVELY to me, especially about my art… anyway, I will be working with her and BCS to do more officially licensed artwork for Sherlock… omg… and like I said before, there will be SIGNED editions in addition to the regular prints now once I finish… I have no words.
That’s the end of my story… for now at least. BASICALLY I CAN’T BELIEVE MY LIFE sorry if this post sounded… puffed up or w/e sorry for rambling so much but I am really so grateful and happy and I promise I will work harder and don’t worry everyone SHERLOCK 3 IS REAL it’s coming!!!

Portrait of Sherlock… I spent an insane amount of time on this! The lighting was extremely difficult to get down, for some reason. Anyway, this is my contribution to Bay Area Sherlock Con, which I will be attending this year as a Guest of Honor! Will be available from the con as a print and as a big vinyl sticker. Hope to see you all there! (August 17th in Santa Clara, CA)

My piece for the Let’s Draw Sherlock project! (The idea was that everyone draws from the same ref image but in their own style, to celebrate the diversity between Sherlock artists!)

I changed up John’s expression and sort of… interpreted (read: got lazy with) the wallpaper, but otherwise painted it as closely as I could. Spent about two days on this and could probably spend more but I’m barely under the deadline here… Prints will probably be up later at my Society6 shop!

This is a picture of an article about fandom in the English adaption of the Shanghai Daily. Not only is it an interesting, informative and a very positive view of the fandoms, it also talks about specific fandoms like the Sherlock fandom and the Supernatural fandom.
An excerpt from the article reads: “These sites also allow people that would never have met each other in real life to communicate and, sometimes, band together to support causes. For example, the fandom of “Supernatural,” a television show, often helps charities as a result of the philanthropic actor who stars in the show.”
That would be Misha. The article goes on to discuss the positive affects of fandom and fanworks, mentioning Tumblr specifically. The article was written by Shannon Hwang and features the artwork of Alice X.

Alice, have you seen this?

Oooh, thanks to everyone who let me know about this! This is really cool!

SDLFKJKLSDF so I got to do an art trade with an artist I love, Niken Anindita aka ~megatruh, who does a lot of fantastical, imaginative pieces… this is the dazzling piece she came up with, called “chemistry of common life.”
Isn’t it beautiful? I’d like to think Sherlock, who has absolutely no interest in astronomy, started visiting planetariums after his “death,” not because he wanted to learn anything, but because he appreciates, and the stars reminds him of John…
