MOLLY FEELINGS UNDER THE CUT

Can I just say… how utterly perfect and utterly heart-wrenching Molly’s story was in this whole thing??

THINK ABOUT IT. Moriarty knows Sherlock’s life story, he knows that Sherlock’s ONLY three friends in the world are John, Mrs. Hudson, and Lestrade. Molly is not even on that list, because, as she said… she doesn’t count. She doesn’t even register in Sherlock’s mind at all, and THAT

THAT’S

WHY

SHE IS SO CRUCIAL

to Sherlock’s death plan.

The only reason she can help Sherlock at all is because Moriarty’s snipers aren’t trained on her. Because Sherlock doesn’t love her the way he loves John, Mrs. Hudson, and even Lestrade. And she still helps him without question.

Just. Really think about how sad that is. The only kind of person that can help Sherlock at this point is someone who loves him but he doesn’t love back. Someone that Moriarty (and Mycroft, for that matter, because he told Moriarty everything he knew) doesn’t know about. I mean, I know in the end Sherlock said all the right things to her. Told her she mattered, and stuff. But up until that point, Molly was really and truly nobody to Sherlock, and she knew it, and yet she was still so aware of what Sherlock was truly feeling, and still so willing to do anything to help him. She is so strong and kind and so genuine and sdlfksdlfjssdf. She is EVERYTHING John is as well, never doubts Sherlock for one second, always 100% truly believes in him. Sherlock treated her like he treats everyone else - Sally, Anderson both turned on him, and even Lestrade’s belief in Sherlock faltered slightly, but Molly believed in him.

And think about this also: Molly is the only person, apart from probably Mycroft, to know that Sherlock is still alive. And that is a terrible, terrible and dangerous secret to bear. Sherlock was asking so much of her…

I just can’t.
